The 'Product Attributes' document detailing the two plus years of research data, is available on this website.
Research into new product applications continues. The products listed below are expected to be progressively released from October 2004 onwards and present investigations into the mat incorporating additives or providing unique application solutions include:
1. Reflective qualities on the upper surface for agricultural and horticultural applications.
2. An insect and pest repellent.
3. The incorporation of a benefical fungi.
4. A snail and slug repellent.
5. A variety of seeds and soil conditioning additives.
6. Insulation and packaging - for a variety of specific purposes.
7. Moulded shapes such as punnets, planter pot tops and plant holders.
8. EcoCover, effective August 2004, is now available with an internationally accredited organic fertilizer fully incorporated into the mulch mat at a level that allows for the period of degradation of the mulch mat. In other words, the organic fertilizer will leach into the soil over a long period of time as the mat degrades.
Other uses and applications for the technology are also being investigated with new products expected to be released that will be both innovative and unique in 2005 - all using paper removed directly from the waste stream.
EcoCover Developments Limited is committed to the sustainability of the global environment, researching and developing products that are environmentally benefical (not just environmentally neutral) through the use of our unique waste paper processing technology.
